Facebook Corporate Terrorist
After putting Artist Activism Network on Auto pilot during a recent hospital stay on May 20, 2008 when I went to go edit and respond to messages there I was informed the profile had been removed for unspecified violations of their Terms of Service. The listed those terms in a vague manner suggesting I had used copyrighted and or offensive material the usual list and in fact I could not even be told what the offensive material was because of the sites privacy policy.
My own limited works shown in my profile are my own works and rather a few photographs and photos of a few sculptured works a process I was refining as process for.
The mission of Artist Activism was to promote a better understand of people and it cultures through the eyes of its own very artist. We had over 230 artists from all around the world as friends there showcasing their works, their culture. All of them as far as I know those 230 plus artists may have had their profiles removed because their friendship with Artist Activism could have placed them at risk.
Facebook it’s method of banning is nothing more then corporate terrorism at its worst and best on the Web today. My works were my own it was the content of one of my connections that someone found objectionable. I personally reviewed each connections art and as art is supposed to do some artists works do some invoked the thought process and stirred feelings it is why it I called art to begin with. None of it was even close to offensive but closer to the actual truth. So as this debate over net neutrality goes on it is not only the corporations that are now banning certain types of network protocols social networking sites are taking a very active terrorist role in removing artist and their works from their site. This was the first step terrorist make is to place fear among artists that their works of art will not be tolerated in their corporate world. Fear will not work Facebook you need us far more then we need you as artist.
If you had Artist Activism as a friend on Facebook understand your works may also be removed. I ask that you pass this press release along to all Artist on Facebook.

In closing it would have been nice to at least had the chance to remove or at least been able to correct and so called offensive material.
